Background

Christian-Friedrich Bollmann started his professional career as a banker prior to commencing his studies of law at the universities of Kiel and Munich. Further, he studied business administration at the Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada. Focussing on commercial and corporate law he passed his bar exam in Duesseldorf in 1993. 1994 he finalized his doctorate in corporate law, i.e. D&O liabilities in a group of companies. From 1993 onwards he worked at the law firm Horlitz, von Menges & Partners taking over the international division. In 1998 he became Legal Counsel within the stock-listed GEA Group of Companies. Amongst others, in his position he also gained the responsibilities as Head of Risk Management and Compliance. Since 2008 he worked as Head of Risk Management of the stock-listed MAN Ferrostaal AG and the M+W Group GmbH. In a major corruption case brought against Ferrostaal he lead the internal assessment and evaluation.

Practice Areas

Christian-Friedrich Bollmann is consulting companies in commercial and corporate law as well as in product liabilty and industrial and intellectual property issues. Part of his responsibilities within the stock-listed companies was consulting and coordinating M&A transactions, assessing and evaluating D&O liability cases as well as working in arbitration procedures. For the sales and purchase departments he developed standard contracts as well as terms and conditions. Further, he developed Contract Risk Analysis, Project Risk Management and Compliance systems implementing those as part of the companies’ routines. Directors and Officers of the companies he also consulted in all relevant fields of law.Temporarily, he also was a member of the supervisory board of a stock-listed company. Finally, he was teaching at the University of Economy and Management in the faculty of International Management.
